Travels to Brooke Ancestral Homes Part 2: Berrow Vicarage, Worcestershire

The Vicarage shown here in the photographs was the birthplace of Rajah Charles Brooke (1829).  His father Reverend Charles Francis Johnson was the parish vicar, married to Emma Brooke, sister of Rajah James. The house has seen better days, though is due for restoration in the new year. Bracing against an icy wind with his back to a wild, wintry sea at nearby Burnham, it is easy for the Rajah’s great great grandson, Jason, to imagine the young Charles rather taken with the idea of tropical adventure with his uncle the Rajah in beautiful Sarawak.
