Reverend Johnson remained here as vicar for 49 years. Plaques in the church commemorate the Rajah's father and mother and seven of his siblings who lie at rest in the family vault. There are touching references to Sarawak around the little church, in particular on the marble memorial to the Rajah Muda, Charles's elder brother, John Brooke Johnson Brooke, who might have, had things been different, become Sarawak's second Rajah.
