The Ranee Exhibition - coming soon to the Old Courthouse in Kuching

In our May 2018 article, we provided a 'teaser' on the permanent Ranee Exhibition which will be housed at the historical Old Courthouse in Kuching, Sarawak.

The Trust is now in the final phases of installing this much-awaited exhibition on the life of a most remarkable woman of her era.

The first Ranee of Sarawak was a key figure in the early history of Sarawak.  Courageous and intelligent, the Ranee would become renowned as an advocate for women's rights and universal education for the local women.  She was an enthusiastic patron of traditional crafts - the Sarawak Keringkam and Songket - the finest examples of which will be featured in this new exhibition to inform, enrich and inspire future generations to keep alive unique traditional arts.
